Black Sherif has once again proven why he remains one of Ghana’s biggest music stars after emerging as the biggest winner at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
The “Iron Boy” hitmaker crowned an unforgettable night by winning the highly coveted Artiste of the Year award, marking the second time he has claimed the top honour after first winning it in 2023.
Beyond the night’s biggest award, Black Sherif delivered one of the most dominant performances in recent TGMA history, sweeping several major categories. His critically acclaimed project Iron Boy won Album of the Year, while he also picked up Songwriter of the Year.
His hit song Sacrifice earned him the Afropop Song of the Year award, while Where Dem Boys secured the Hip-Hop Song of the Year title, cementing his place as the standout performer of the evening.
The awards night also celebrated other top Ghanaian acts who made strong impressions throughout the year.
Medikal enjoyed a successful night after winning Hiplife Song of the Year for Shoulder, alongside Best Collaboration and Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year.
Kofi Kinaata continued his dominance in the highlife category, taking home both Highlife Song of the Year and Highlife Artiste of the Year honours.
Stonebwoy successfully retained his Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year title, while gospel musician Diana Hamilton was named Gospel Artiste of the Year.
With another Artiste of the Year win now under his belt, Black Sherif continues to strengthen his legacy as one of the defining voices in Ghana’s music industry.
