Terminal 2 Road at Kotoka Airport Partially Closed for One Month Over Refurbishment Works

The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has announced a temporary partial closure of the road in front of the Departure Hall at Terminal 2 of the Accra International Airport as refurbishment works begin on the facility’s frontage and facade.

In a public notice issued by management, GACL said the affected section of the road will be closed starting Monday, May 11, 2026, and the exercise is expected to continue for one month.

According to the company, the temporary closure is necessary to allow contractors to safely carry out the renovation and refitting works at the terminal.

During the construction period, both pedestrian and vehicular access to parts of the area will be restricted.

To help manage movement within the airport enclave and reduce inconvenience to travellers, GACL said traffic management personnel will be deployed at key points, while directional signs will also be mounted to guide motorists and pedestrians.

Management assured the public that measures have been put in place to minimise disruptions and maintain safety throughout the project period.

The company also apologised for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause and appealed to airport users and the general public for patience and cooperation while the refurbishment works continue.
