The Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana has strongly denied reports that former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, was shot during an incident at the church’s property in Kwabenya, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Sunday, June 21, the church said the incident occurred after Adwoa Safo allegedly drove her vehicle into the entrance gates of the property following a church event, causing damage to two metallic gates.
According to the church leadership, worshippers and invited guests were present at the premises at the time, and the action posed a significant risk to both lives and property.
The statement noted that security personnel on duty intervened to prevent the situation from escalating further and to ensure the safety of those in attendance.
The church also rejected reports suggesting that Adwoa Safo’s brother, Kwadwo Safo Jnr, shot her during the incident. It described such claims as inaccurate and urged the public to disregard unverified information circulating on social media and other platforms.
The Kristo Asafo Mission further called on the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter to establish the facts and ensure accountability where necessary.
The church appealed to the public to remain calm and allow due process to take its course while investigations continue.
