The Member of Parliament for Builsa North, James Agalga, has been appointed the new Majority Leader in Parliament.
His appointment follows the nomination of the former Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs-designate by President John Dramani Mahama.
Mr Ayariga’s move to the Cabinet has created the need for a new leader for the Majority Caucus in Parliament.
Mr Agalga, a former Deputy Minister for the Interior, will now take over the leadership of the Majority side and lead the caucus in parliamentary business.
His appointment comes at a time when Parliament prepares to adjust to the latest changes in President Mahama’s administration.
