GFA Hands Over Vehicles to Boost Football Development Across Ghana

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has reinforced its commitment to developing the game nationwide with the presentation of five vehicles to key operational units under the FIFA Forward Programme.

The latest distribution benefits two Regional Football Associations (RFAs), the Technical Directorate, the GFA Headquarters, and the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram. The move is part of a broader effort to improve logistics and efficiency across Ghana’s football structure.

This delivery also fulfils a promise made nearly a year ago when eight of the country’s ten football regions received double-cabin pickup vehicles. At the time, the GFA indicated that the remaining regions and key departments would receive theirs once the initial fleet was properly utilised and managed.

With this new batch, all regions and essential units are now covered, marking a significant milestone in strengthening the administrative and technical backbone of Ghana football.

At the presentation ceremony, GFA officials stressed that the vehicles go beyond serving as mere transport. For the Regional Football Associations, they are expected to ease the burden of travelling long distances to organise matches, monitor competitions, and support grassroots, juvenile, and women’s football activities.

Similarly, the Technical Directorate and the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence are expected to benefit from improved mobility, making it easier to run development programmes and manage day-to-day operations.

The initiative forms part of the GFA’s wider strategy to build a more efficient and competitive football ecosystem, from grassroots development to elite performance.

However, the Association also emphasised accountability, urging all beneficiaries to use the vehicles strictly for football-related purposes while ensuring proper maintenance and transparent management.

Regional FA Chairmen and heads of the beneficiary units have been tasked to deploy the vehicles in ways that directly benefit clubs, districts, and the overall growth of the game.

According to the GFA, the true success of the initiative will not be measured by the number of vehicles distributed, but by the impact they make on football development across the country.

With this latest intervention, the Association continues to highlight the importance of strategic partnerships and responsible leadership in advancing the sport, with the ultimate goal of growing and sustaining football in Ghana.
