Manchester City have rejected the findings of a Premier League Commission, describing the opinion as “disappointing and surprising” while maintaining that the club remains innocent of the charges against it.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 29, City said it has a “comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence” supporting its position and will pursue all available regulatory and legal avenues.
The club also argued that the Commission’s opinion contains “clear material errors of law, principle and fact” and described the findings as unsafe.
Manchester City said the Premier League’s process remains ongoing, with significant elements yet to be completed, but confirmed that it intends to pursue the available appeal options.
The club added that it has respected due process throughout the eight-year process and expects the Premier League Board and Executive to act as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator.
City said it remains limited in what it can disclose publicly while the outstanding proceedings are still ongoing.
