Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie has praised the management of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), saying its recent achievements have left some Ghanaians questioning what had been done during the previous eight years.
Speaking during a visit to SSNIT, the Chief Justice said he was impressed by what the current management had achieved, particularly after learning about developments at the organisation.
He recalled that not too long ago, SSNIT was considering the sale of some of its prized assets, including La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, making the current progress even more remarkable.
“If you compare that to the fact that not too long ago, SSNIT was preparing to sell its prized assets, you wonder how Ghana could have sunk so low,” he said.
The Chief Justice attributed the improvements to proper management, effective use of resources and a commitment to serving the public.
“The old man’s agenda is an agenda that will benefit the nation,” he added, referring to President John Dramani Mahama, while urging public officials to work towards making the government’s agenda successful.
