Parliament to Resume Sitting on May 21

Parliament is set to resume its sittings later this month, following an official announcement by the Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.

In a notice issued from the Office of the Speaker in Accra on Monday, May 4, 2026, it was confirmed that the Second Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic will commence on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Parliament House.

The directive was issued in accordance with Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, which governs the reconvening of the House.

According to the Speaker, the notice serves as formal communication to Members of Parliament and all relevant stakeholders, giving them adequate time to prepare for the resumption of parliamentary business.

The upcoming session is expected to see lawmakers return to the chamber to continue deliberations on key legislative matters, alongside discussions on issues of national importance.
