The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports circulating on social media suggesting that some ministers have been terminated and others reappointed in a purported government reshuffle.
In a press statement issued on June 6, 2026, the party urged the public to disregard the reports, describing them as deliberate misinformation intended to create confusion and mislead the public.
The statement comes after a purported press release detailing the termination and reappointment of some ministers gained traction across social media platforms, sparking widespread speculation about a possible reshuffle within the Mahama administration.
According to the NDC, no official announcement has been made regarding any ministerial reshuffle.
“As we all strive to curb the menace of deliberate misinformation, some individuals will stop at nothing to poison the atmosphere,” portions of the statement read.
The party further advised the public to verify such information through the official channels of the administration before sharing it.
“The official spokesperson for this administration is Hon. Felix Kwakye Ofosu. Kindly verify any such information through his official channels before sharing it,” the statement added.
The NDC also warned about the consequences of spreading false information, noting that the Cyber Security Act contains provisions that could have serious implications for individuals who deliberately disseminate misinformation.
“The Cyber Security Act can have serious implications, so let us all be mindful and responsible in our communication,” the statement stressed.
The party therefore called on the public, media practitioners and social media users to rely on credible and verified sources of information and disregard the alleged reshuffle document currently in circulation.
