Medeama Open Five-Point Lead as Hearts of Oak Stay in the Hunt

Medeama SC have taken a significant step toward clinching the Ghana Premier League title after a commanding 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars FC at the TnA Stadium.

Midfielder Salim Adams was the star of the show, netting both goals in style. He opened the scoring from the penalty spot before capping off a fine performance with a beautifully taken free-kick. The result sees Medeama extend their lead at the top of the table to five points, with just four matches left to play.

Accra Hearts of Oak also kept their momentum going with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Nations FC at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex. Mawuli Wayo’s early strike in the 11th minute proved enough to secure all three points. The Phobians delivered a disciplined display to maintain their push for a top-three finish, while increasing the pressure on Nations FC, who remain entangled in the relegation battle.

Elsewhere, Karela United FC left it late to secure a dramatic 2-1 win over Young Apostles FC at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium. Abdulai Hafiz opened the scoring before Richmond Opoku drew Apostles level. However, Rahman Yaya emerged as the hero with a stoppage-time winner to hand Karela a crucial victory and deepen Apostles’ survival concerns.

Dreams FC continued their impressive form with a 2-0 win over Asante Kotoko SC at the Tuba Astroturf. Goals from Oumar Nafal and Ebenezer Adade in either half sealed a deserved victory, as Kotoko’s struggles away from home persisted.

Aduana FC and Heart of Lions FC, meanwhile, settled for a goalless draw at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park. The result sees Aduana drop out of the top four, while Lions remain comfortably in mid-table as the season approaches its climax.

FC Samartex 1996 boosted their top-four hopes with a convincing 3-1 win over Holy Stars FC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. Early goals from Akwasi Sarpong and Francis Gyetuah set the tone before Christian Agyenim Boateng wrapped up the victory, extending Samartex’s winning run to three matches.
