The Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB PLC) has joined prominent personalities and institutions across Ghana in celebrating the 60th birthday of the Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, whose milestone was marked on Friday, April 24, 2026.
In a goodwill message, the Managing Director of ADB PLC, Mr Edward Ato Sarpong, paid glowing tribute to Mr. Debrah, describing him as a distinguished statesman whose humility, leadership, and unwavering dedication to national development have made a lasting impact on Ghana’s governance landscape.
According to the ADB MD, Mr. Debrah’s long-standing service to the nation reflects a rare blend of patriotism, experience, and commitment to progress. He emphasised that the Chief of Staff’s leadership journey continues to inspire many, particularly in the areas of public administration and stakeholder engagement.

Leading a management delegation to the birthday celebration, Mr. Sarpong noted that Mr. Debrah has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities over the years, earning widespread admiration across both the public and private sectors.
“On the occasion of your 60th birthday, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to you for your remarkable contributions to national development and public service. Your leadership and statesmanship continue to serve as a source of inspiration to many Ghanaians,” he stated.
As part of efforts to honour the Chief of Staff, ADB PLC revealed that it has, in principle, onboarded Mr. Julius Debrah as the first customer of the Platinum Banking wing of its new ultra-modern branch at East Legon, which is set to open soon. The gesture underscores the bank’s appreciation of his service and its commitment to strengthening relationships with key national figures.

In his response, Mr. Debrah commended ADB PLC and its management for what he described as a remarkable and strategic turnaround of the bank’s fortunes in recent years. He observed that the institution’s current performance trajectory signals its increasing relevance within Ghana’s financial and economic development space.
He further applauded the bank’s renewed strategic focus, particularly its commitment to innovation, enhanced customer service experience, and deliberate efforts to expand financial inclusion across the country.
Mr. Debrah also highlighted the bank’s transformation agenda and sustained operational expansion, noting that these efforts reflect purposeful leadership and a clear institutional vision capable of positioning ADB PLC among Ghana’s leading indigenous financial institutions.
ADB PLC’s recent financial performance reinforces this outlook. The bank recorded an impressive profit after tax of GHS367 million in the 2025 financial year, marking a significant turnaround and demonstrating its growing strength and stability.

The bank’s long-term ambition is to rank among the top three performing banks in Ghana, while also earning global admiration for its people, processes, and performance. This vision is anchored on its corporate tagline, “Beyond Banking,” which the institution describes not merely as a slogan, but as a commitment to redefining banking by empowering businesses, building sustainable futures, driving prosperity, and nurturing communities across the country.
