President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has attributed Ghana’s recent economic recovery to renewed investor confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s leadership.
Speaking at the Accra Reset hosted by President Mahama on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday, September 21, the African business magnate said the improvement in Ghana’s economic fortunes demonstrates the important role trust plays in attracting investment and supporting economic recovery.
According to Dangote, President Mahama’s approach to managing the economy has reassured investors and helped restore confidence in Ghana’s economic prospects.
He said the turnaround was not the result of extraordinary measures but rather the outcome of decisions that helped rebuild trust among investors and economic stakeholders.
Dangote further pointed to Ghana’s experience as evidence of the close relationship between confidence in leadership and the movement of capital.
“He didn’t do any magic. He’s not a magician, but he did the right things, and people really have a lot of trust in him. And that’s why Ghana’s economy turned around. This has actually shown that money follows trust,” he said.
