NDC Sets February Date for Ayawaso East Parliamentary Primaries

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially announced the guidelines and timetable for its Ayawaso East parliamentary primaries, with the election scheduled to take place in February 2026.

In a notice signed by the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC called on all aspirants and stakeholders to strictly observe the outlined timelines and conduct their activities with decorum, decency, unity, and fairness. The party emphasized that adherence to these principles reflects its commitment to internal democracy.

According to the timetable, nominations for the Ayawaso East parliamentary contest will open on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 7:00am to 5:00pm at the NDC Regional Office. Aspirants are expected to pick up and complete their nomination forms within this period.

Completed nomination forms must be submitted on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, also between 7:00am and 5:00pm at the same venue. This will be followed by vetting, balloting, and the hearing of any appeals on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the Regional Office.

The parliamentary primary election is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, and will be held from 9:00am to 4:00pm at a designated venue within the Ayawaso East Constituency.

Party leadership has once again urged all aspirants to fully comply with the laid-down guidelines and to uphold unity and fairness throughout the process, as the NDC prepares to select its parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso East seat.
