ADB Begins Landmark Renovation and Enhancement of Iconic ADB House

Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB) has commenced a landmark renovation and enhancement of its iconic ADB House Building (former head office), marking another significant milestone in the Bank’s commitment to preserving its heritage while building a stronger future.

The project forms part of ADB’s strategic drive to modernise its infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and create an enhanced working environment that reflects the Bank’s transformation agenda and unwavering commitment to service excellence.

To assess progress of works, the Managing Director of ADB, Edward Ato Sarpong, on Tuesday 21st July 2026, led his two able deputies – Professor Ferdinand Ahiakpor(DMD Services) & Madam Sylvia Naa Kwakai Nyante(DMD Operations), EXCO Members, as well as other Management Team, to visit the site and inspect the ongoing renovations and enhancements. The inspection provided an opportunity for Management to engage with the project team, review the quality and pace of work, and reaffirm the Bank’s commitment to delivering a revitalizediconic building that embodies the history and legacy of ADB.

The enhancement of ADB House is inspired by the timeless Ghanaian philosophy of Sankofa, the principle of drawing wisdom from the past while embracing the future. For decades, ADB House has stood as a symbol of the Bank’s resilience, growth, and unwavering dedication to supporting Ghana’s economic development. The ongoing transformation seeks to preserve that proud legacy while equipping the building to meet the demands of modern banking.

The renovation will introduce contemporary facilities, upgraded workspaces, and enhanced customer-facing areas, creating an environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence. The project also reflects the Bank’s broader vision of investing in infrastructure that supports its people, strengthens customer experience, and reinforces its position as one of Ghana’s leading indigenous financial institutions.

Speaking during the inspection, the ADB MD reaffirmed Management’s commitment to protecting the Bank’s legacy while investing in infrastructure that positions ADB for sustained growth and long-term success.

The revitalisation of ADB House demonstrates that while ADB continues to evolve with the changing needs of customers and the financial services industry, it remains firmly rooted in the values and heritage that have defined the institution for generations.

As work progresses, ADB House will emerge as a renewed symbol of the Bank’s enduring strength, resilience, and vision, honouring its past while embracing the opportunities of tomorrow.
