Office of the President Had 39 Staffers and 190 Political Appointees in 2025 – Annual Report Reveals


The 2025 Annual Report of the Office of the President has revealed that a total of 39 presidential staffers and 190 political appointees served at the Presidency during the year under review.

The report, which was prepared in line with Section 11 of the Presidential Office Act, 1993 (Act 463), was sighted by 3news and provides a detailed breakdown of staffing at the highest level of government between 1st January and 31st December 2025.

According to the document, four Ministers of State were in office as at 31st December 2025. In addition, the Presidency recorded 39 Presidential Staffers serving in various capacities during the period.

It further noted that political appointees working at the Office of the President, excluding Ministers of State and Presidential Staffers, totalled 190.

Beyond political appointments, the report also captured a significant number of public sector employees assigned to the Presidency. These include civil servants across administrative, executive, records, secretarial, budget, procurement and supply chain management roles, as well as personnel within the Presidential Household.

Other supporting staff were drawn from institutions such as the Department of Parks and Gardens, Ghana Health Service, Controller and Accountant-General’s Department, Ghana Audit Service, Public Works Department (Prestige), and the Ghana Postal Company. Altogether, this category accounted for 575 employees.

The report forms part of statutory disclosures required to provide transparency on staffing and administrative structure within the Office of the President.
