The President-Elect of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Hon. Julius Debrah as the Co-Chairperson of the John Mahama’sTransition Team. The announcement, made on December 10, 2024, comes as the country gears up for the peaceful transfer of political power to the incoming administration.
Hon. Julius Debrah, a seasoned politician and former Chief of Staff under the Mahama administration, brings a wealth of experience in governance and public administration to this critical role. His appointment emphasizes the President-Elect’s commitment to ensuring a seamless transition that upholds the principles of democracy and stability in Ghana.
The Transition Team, as stipulated under the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845), will work closely with representatives of the outgoing government to oversee the orderly handover of state affairs. Composed of distinguished individuals from diverse fields such as finance, governance, and public administration, the team is tasked with facilitating an efficient and transparent transition process.
Hon. Debrah’s leadership as Co-Chairperson will be key in enhancing collaboration between the two administrations. Known for his diplomatic acumen and deep understanding of governmental operations, he is expected to steer the team toward achieving its mandate with professionalism and integrity.
