President Mahama Set to Deliver 2026 State of the Nation Address Today

President  John Dramani Mahama will deliver his 2026 State of the Nation Address (SONA) in Parliament today, February 27. The address will review the government’s performance over the past year and present plans for the year ahead.

The speech, mandated by the Constitution, is expected to cover key areas such as the economy, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and energy. On the economic front, President Mahama is likely to address inflation, public debt management, revenue mobilisation, and job creation, while outlining measures to boost growth, attract investment, and ease economic pressures on citizens.

Infrastructure development is also expected to feature prominently. The President may highlight achievements in road construction, housing projects, water and sanitation, and other public works across the country.

Lawmakers, government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, traditional leaders, and representatives of civil society are expected to attend. The address traditionally serves as a roadmap for national policymaking and sets the tone for public discourse in the year ahead.
