I will not be the one to bring division – Bawumia.

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has assured members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) that he will never be the one to create confusion or division within the party as it prepares for its flagbearer elections.

Speaking to thousands of supporters at the NPP headquarters in Accra after filing his nomination papers to contest the party’s flagbearership, Dr. Bawumia stressed that the NPP’s real challenge lies outside, not within its own ranks.

“Our true opponent is not within. Our true opponent is out there,” he declared, urging fellow aspirants to treat the flagbearer race as an internal contest that must not weaken the unity of the party.

He further promised to run a clean and unifying campaign. “We need unity to win, and I promise you that just as you have known me to be, I would not do anything to bring division or conflict within the party. If there would be anyone to create problems in the NPP, it won’t be Dr. Bawumia,” he assured.

Dr. Bawumia also outlined aspects of his vision for Ghana, with a focus on expanding the economy and creating jobs through bold and practical policies designed to provide opportunities for individuals, businesses, and the wider economy.

His call for unity was met with loud cheers from party faithful, many of whom described his message as timely and necessary as the NPP heads into a competitive internal election.
