The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has announced that the suspended 2025/2026 recruitment screening exercise for the Greater Accra Region will resume on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
The confirmation was contained in a statement issued by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin of the Ghana Navy, who serves as the Acting Director General of Public Relations.
According to the statement, the screening will take place across eight sub-centres spread across five locations to ensure a more orderly and efficient process. Captain Arhin noted that “all qualified applicants, in batches of 600, will receive SMS notifications detailing their reporting dates, batches, and designated centres.”
The approved screening centres include:
- El-Wak Stadium – Two sub-centres
- Nicholson Park, Burma Camp – Two sub-centres
- Air Force Base, Burma Camp
- Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Teshie – Two sub-centres
- Eastern Naval Command, Tema
Applicants have been directed to strictly adhere to the instructions contained in their SMS messages and to check the recruitment portal regularly for further updates. Individuals who do not receive a message by November 20 are advised to call the official helpline or reach out via the designated WhatsApp number.
GAF also cautioned that family members and friends will not be permitted entry at the centres to reduce congestion. Only applicants will be allowed access.
The recruitment exercise was suspended following a tragic stampede that resulted in casualties. A Board of Inquiry established to investigate the incident is still working. To promote transparency and restore public confidence, the entire Greater Accra recruitment team has been replaced. The new leadership comprises Commodore F.A. Nyarko (Human Resources), Colonel F. Kusi-Darko (Manpower), and Colonel G.B. Eduah (Information Technology).
Captain Arhin further assured the public that anyone found responsible for the unfortunate incident will face appropriate sanctions. She added that the Armed Forces deeply regrets the tragedy and has expressed condolences to the bereaved families.
GAF also pledged continued medical support for the injured, who will receive free treatment at the 37 Military Hospital until they fully recover. Additionally, a “special recruitment package” will be extended to the injured and affected families.
“The Ghana Armed Forces continues to count on the cooperation of the general public in this endeavor,” the statement concluded.
