The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, is in stable condition following a road accident early Thursday morning in the Oti Region.
The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. at Pai-Katanga while the King was returning to Accra from Tamale in the Northern Region. Sources close to the palace revealed that the visit to Tamale was a private one, at the invitation of the Yaa Naa. It was described as a cordial and significant engagement, aimed at strengthening unity and reinforcing mutual respect among Ghana’s traditional authorities.
On his journey back to Accra, the Ga Mantse’s vehicle was involved in a crash. Fortunately, the King escaped without injury and remains in good spirits. However, his driver sustained critical injuries and was immediately taken to hospital for treatment.
Personnel from the Ghana Police Service quickly responded to the scene. While details surrounding the accident are still being investigated, the atmosphere at the Ga Mantse’s palace is one of relief and gratitude as the King continues his recovery.
