Education Ministry to Review Computerized School Placement System.

The Ministry of Education has announced plans to set up a technical team to undertake a comprehensive review of the Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

According to Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, the initiative is part of efforts to ensure greater transparency, efficiency, and fairness in the placement of students into second-cycle institutions across the country.

“We are putting together a team of experts to assess the current placement system and recommend improvements,” the Minister said. “This review will ensure that the CSSPS remains a tool that serves the best interests of all Ghanaian children.”

Hon. Iddrisu made this known during a surprise working visit to Presbyterian Senior High School in Accra, where he interacted with students, teachers, and school administrators. The visit, he explained, offered him firsthand insight into the challenges facing both students and educators.

“Engaging with the school community has deepened my understanding of the realities on the ground,” he noted. “We are committed to addressing issues related to infrastructure, teaching and learning resources, and overall school management.”

The Minister commended the dedication and hard work of teachers, assuring them of the Ministry’s continued support to improve the quality of education delivery.

“The commitment of our teachers is commendable,” he said. “As a Ministry, we will keep investing in systems that promote equitable access to quality education for every child.”

Hon. Iddrisu added that the upcoming review process will be participatory, involving key stakeholders such as education managers, parents, and student representatives to ensure inclusiveness and build public trust.

“We want a placement system that is not only technically sound but also widely trusted by the public,” he emphasized.
