ADB Holds Branch Managers Strategy Session to Drive Service Excellence and Sustainable Growth

The Agricultural Development Bank PLC (ADB) has held a two-day strategic session for its branch managers, aimed at redefining operational efficiency, service delivery, and long-term growth across its network.

The strategy meeting, held on October 23 and 24, 2025, brought together Branch Managers, Executive Committee Members, and senior management of the Bank to review performance, realign priorities for the final quarter of 2025, and chart a bold course for 2026.

Opening the session, the Managing Director of ADB, Mr. Edward Ato Sarpong, inspired participants with lessons drawn from global business success stories. He encouraged the managers to embrace creativity, innovation, and decisive leadership to meet the demands of an evolving financial landscape.

“The global business environment is evolving rapidly, and so must we. We cannot continue to do things the same way and expect different results. The time has come to think differently, act decisively, and lead with creativity,” Mr. Ato Sarpong urged.

He emphasized the Bank’s renewed focus on strengthening its leadership in agribusiness financing, digital transformation, and customer service excellence, noting that ADB’s upcoming 60th anniversary should symbolize a new era of growth and innovation.

In his remarks, Deputy Managing Director (Operations), Professor Ferdinand Ahiakpor, described the session as a “crucial bridge between vision and execution.” He called on branch leaders to demonstrate ownership and accountability in delivering results while deepening customer relationships.

“The branch network is ADB’s frontline strength. As we prepare for 2026, we must shift from transactional thinking to strategic engagement  understanding customer needs, leveraging data, and offering tailored financial solutions that reinforce trust in the ADB brand,” Prof. Ahiakpor stated.

Also speaking at the event, General Manager for Retail Banking, Mr. Frank Okyere-Adarkwa, highlighted the importance of proactive service and value creation. He charged staff to uphold ADB’s purpose-driven culture through exceptional customer experience that fosters loyalty and brand advocacy.

“We must live by our corporate social architecture of delivering exceptional service experience that creates positive top-of-mind customer recall and leads to repeat patronage and referrals,” he added.

Mr. Mohammed Ali, Head of Marketing and Communications, echoed these sentiments, stressing that effective brand communication and consistent customer engagement remain key to sustaining ADB’s growth momentum.

“Our marketing efforts must align with our strategy  one of relevance, visibility, and impact. Every branch is a brand touchpoint, and every staff member is a brand ambassador,” Mr. Ali said.

The Branch Managers’ Strategy Session forms part of ADB’s broader efforts to ensure strategic alignment between leadership and field operations. Discussions focused on consolidating gains made in 2025 and exploring new business frontiers under the Bank’s “Beyond Banking” brand direction  a commitment to delivering value that transcends traditional financial services.
