Supporters of Adwoa Safo, former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya, gathered at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) headquarters in Asylum Down, Accra, on Monday, April 7, ahead of her scheduled appearance before the party’s disciplinary committee.
This development follows comments made by the former MP during an appearance on JoyNews’ The Pulse, which party leadership deemed to be in violation of a directive banning public discussions likely to cause internal disaffection or unrest.
Adwoa Safo is facing the disciplinary committee over her media remarks concerning the NPP’s performance in the 2024 general elections. The hearing is part of a broader investigation into the possible repercussions of her statements on the party’s image and unity.
A formal notice summoning her before the committee was issued on March 24, 2025. It was jointly signed by Patrick Boamah, Secretary to the Disciplinary Committee, and William Yamoah, the party’s Director of Finance and Administration.
