The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially scheduled its National Delegates Conference for Saturday, September 19, 2026, with delegates expected to elect new National Officers and deliberate on proposed amendments to the party’s constitution.
The decision was reached by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and subsequently ratified by the National Council at separate meetings held on June 25, 2026.
In preparation for the conference, the party has opened a constitutional review process, inviting members and stakeholders to submit proposals for amendments.
The General Secretary, acting in accordance with Article 19(2) of the NPP Constitution, called on members to take part in shaping the party’s future by forwarding suggestions that could improve its governance and internal operations.
“The Party encourages all members and stakeholders to take advantage of this constitutional review process by submitting proposals that will further strengthen the Party’s structures, enhance its internal democratic processes, and promote effective governance,” the statement said.
The party announced that all proposals must be submitted to the Office of the General Secretary at the National Headquarters or emailed to nppconstitutionalamendment@gmail.com no later than Friday, July 17, 2026.
The conference itself will be held pursuant to Article 10(1) of the party’s constitution and will feature the election of National Officers alongside discussions on the proposed constitutional amendments.
The NPP said the exercise reflects its continued commitment to “constitutionalism, internal democracy, and the rule of law,” adding that the constitutional review is intended to ensure the party remains responsive to the needs of its members and adheres to its democratic traditions.
