The Ministry of the Interior has confirmed that Friday, July 3, 2026, will be observed as a statutory public holiday in Ghana to mark Republic Day.
Although Republic Day falls on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, the government has adjusted the celebration date to ensure wider national participation.
This follows an Executive Instrument issued by the President in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2001 (Act 601), as amended.
By the directive, the public holiday will now be observed on Friday, July 3, allowing citizens across the country to commemorate the occasion on a more convenient day.
