The Soyaya Movement under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) umbrella has congratulated H. E. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC Party as a whole for the overwhelming electoral victory in the just-ended 2024 general elections.
The movement also thanked the first lady, Mrs.Lordina Mahama for unwavering commitment and support throughout the election campaigns as a prospective chief patron of the movement.
According to the group, the landslide victory was an indication of an overwhelming endorsement of the manifesto and ideals of the party as a better alternative to the NPP government whose tenure resulted in untold economic hardships and unprecedented levels of corruption.
Speaking on behalf of the leadership, Dr. Yakubu Gowinstated that the massive victory shows that the country needed change and H.E. John Dramani Mahama in particular to come back to reset Ghana on the path of growth and prosperity for the masses. “The National Leadership of the SoyayaMovement of NDC congratulates H.E. John DramaniMahama on his historic election victory,” he said.
“We see this victory as an attainment of a second liberation or independence of Ghana, one that intends to reset the nation from the abysmal performance of the NPP government in the past 8 years to a nation of unity and prosperity for all.” He added.
The NDC Soyaya Movement noted that Ghanaiansexperienced worse governance in the past 8 years and cannot wait to quickly put the lost years behind them and start afresh under the leadership of H.E. John Dramani Mahama and the NDC.
Dr. Yakubu Gowin assured that the Soyaya Movement will continue to support H.E. John Dramani Mahama and his government to implement its policies to engender economic growth and accelerated national development.
The NDC Soyaya Movement is a women movement with over 1.3 million members across the country. The leadership, financiers, and members campaigned vigorously across the length and breadth of the country to enhance the electoral victory of the party.
