Afrobeats heavyweights Wizkid and Asake have officially joined forces on a new collaborative EP titled REAL, Vol. 1, marking a major moment for African music fans worldwide.
The four-track project blends Wizkid’s smooth, soulful Afro-fusion style with Asake’s energetic, street-inspired sound, creating a body of work that feels both effortless and intentional. Produced by Magicsticks, lol, and 4Tunes, the EP maintains a cohesive sonic identity rooted firmly in contemporary Afrobeats, while allowing both artists to shine in their natural elements.
First teased during a joint interview in 2025, REAL, Vol. 1 arrives after weeks of speculation and online buzz. The anticipation intensified following the release of “Jogodo,” a laid-back, percussion-driven single that quickly gained praise from major platforms including Billboard, Essence, Vibe, and OkayAfrica.
The EP also features “Alaye,” “Iskolodo,” and the focus track “Turbulence.” The latter comes with an accompanying music video and showcases subtle experimentation, adding an edgy touch without losing the dance-friendly appeal that defines both artists’ music.
While Wizkid and Asake have each enjoyed massive success individually and previously collaborated on chart-topping singles, including the Grammy-nominated “MMS” REAL, Vol. 1 represents their first full collaborative body of work.
