Two Pilots Feared Dead After Microlight Aircraft Crashes in Tema School Compound

Two pilots are feared dead following the crash of a Skyarrow microlight aircraft at Oninku in Community 1, Tema, on Monday afternoon.

According to reports reaching local media, the aircraft went down at Site 17 at approximately 3:30 p.m., landing within the compound of a school and triggering panic in the area.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation and provide emergency assistance. A GNFS official confirmed that two bodies had been recovered from the crash site.

Eyewitnesses said the impact caused alarm among students and staff, but teachers and pupils were promptly evacuated to safety. No casualties among the school population have been reported so far.

Security agencies have since cordoned off the area to prevent interference and to allow investigators to examine the wreckage. Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the crash.

Further details are expected as emergency responders and aviation officials continue their assessment of the incident.
