Tottenham Hotspur have dismissed head coach Thomas Frank following a dismal run of results that has dragged the club dangerously close to the Premier League relegation zone.
The decision was confirmed on Wednesday, ending Frank’s eight-month spell in charge at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Frank was appointed in June 2025 on a contract running until 2028, succeeding Ange Postecoglou. He arrived from Brentford, where he had earned widespread respect for guiding the club through seven seasons and establishing them as a competitive Premier League side. His appointment was seen as a fresh start for Spurs, with hopes that his structured and disciplined approach would steady the club.
However, Tottenham’s domestic form has deteriorated significantly during the 2025- 26 campaign. Spurs have managed just two wins in their last 17 league matches and are currently on an eight-game winless streak. The slump culminated in a 2–1 home defeat to Newcastle United a result that ultimately proved decisive.
The north London club sit 16th in the table, just five points above the relegation zone, prompting the board to act with 13 matches still to play.
In a statement, Tottenham thanked Frank for his dedication and professionalism, but said a change was necessary given the team’s performances.
“However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary. Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”
Spurs will now begin the search for a new manager as they attempt to halt their slide and secure their Premier League status for next season.
