President Mahama to Engage SOE CEOs in High-Level Meeting on Governance and Economic Growth

The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) is set to host a crucial engagement between President John Mahama and the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), along with key stakeholders from Ghana’s public sector.

This high-profile meeting, scheduled for March 13, 2025, will be held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra and is expected to mark a significant milestone in Ghana’s governance and economic strategy.

President Mahama will outline his vision for restructuring and improving SOEs, aiming to enhance their efficiency, accountability, and contribution to national development. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader objective of resetting and realigning state institutions to drive economic progress.

The event will bring together senior government officials, ministers of state, and representatives from the World Bank, highlighting the importance of collaboration between government, international partners, and state enterprises in advancing Ghana’s development goals.

A major highlight of the meeting will be the launch of a comprehensive study on 16 SOEs, conducted by SIGA. This study examines the current operational landscape of state enterprises, identifies key challenges, and proposes strategic reforms to improve their performance.

According to SIGA, the study’s findings will play a critical role in shaping government policy, ensuring that SOEs operate with greater transparency, efficiency, and accountability while aligning with Ghana’s economic transformation agenda.
