Pacquiao, Mayweather Confirm September 2026 Rematch in Las Vegas

More than a decade after their blockbuster showdown billed as the “Fight of the Century,” boxing icons Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather are set to meet again in a rematch that is already stirring global excitement.

The two legends have officially agreed to face off on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The bout will be streamed live on Netflix, bringing the long-awaited sequel directly to millions of fans worldwide.

Now aged 47 and 48 respectively, both fighters are stepping out of semi-retirement for what promises to be one of the biggest sporting events of the year. Mayweather returns to the ring with his flawless professional record intact  50 wins, no losses, and 27 knockouts. His last professional appearance came in 2017, when he stopped UFC star Conor McGregor via technical knockout.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, initially retired in 2021 to focus on his political career in the Philippines. However, the former eight-division world champion made a comeback last July, fighting WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios to a draw. He enters the rematch with a remarkable record of 62 wins from 73 professional fights.

Their first meeting in 2015 remains one of the most lucrative events in boxing history. The bout generated 4.6 million pay-per-view buys and a reported $72 million at the live gate. Mayweather claimed victory by unanimous decision, extending his unbeaten streak and settling  at least temporarily  one of boxing’s most debated rivalries.

But for Pacquiao, the story is not finished.

“Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history,” Pacquiao said after confirming the rematch. “The fans have waited long enough. They deserve this rematch. I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him.”

Mayweather, characteristically confident, dismissed the challenge. “I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result,” he said.

With anticipation building, organisers are expected to announce details of the undercard and ticket sales in the coming weeks. As fight night approaches, the boxing world will be watching closely to see whether Pacquiao can finally hand Mayweather his first defeat  or if “Money” will once again walk away undefeated.
