Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s Residence Raided by Unknown Individuals Amid Corruption Investigation

The residence of former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, was reportedly raided by individuals dressed in military attire under mysterious circumstances. The motives behind the operation remain unclear, and no group has yet claimed responsibility for the raid. At the time of the incident, Ofori-Atta’s wife and several others were present, but sources suggest that the former minister himself was not home, having reportedly left the country prior to the raid.

Following the incident, the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) issued a statement declaring Ofori-Atta a wanted fugitive in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption. He has called on the former minister to return to Ghana and make himself available for investigation. Agyebeng further warned that should Ofori-Atta fail to voluntarily return, the OSP will take all necessary measures to force his return and ensure he faces investigation.

In response, Ofori-Atta’s legal team swiftly denied the claims, asserting that he is out of the country for medical treatment and is not attempting to evade the investigation. The defense further urged the public to disregard any speculation that suggests otherwise.

The OSP has also distanced itself from the raid, clarifying that its operatives were not involved. It described the incident as an act of impersonation designed to disrupt the ongoing investigation.
