Bice ‘Obour’ Osei Kuffuor has announced his resignation as the Managing Director of Ghana Post Limited, bringing an end to his tenure at the state-owned postal and logistics company.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, Mr. Osei Kuffuor reflected on his achievements during his leadership and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
Achievements During His Tenure
Mr. Osei Kuffuor, who assumed office as Managing Director on January 4, 2022, described his time at Ghana Post as an honour and a privilege, highlighting key milestones achieved under his leadership.
“Under my leadership, the company has made significant strides in digitalization, operational efficiency, brand awareness, and financial sustainability,” he wrote.
He emphasized that his tenure was focused on repositioning Ghana Post as a modern, efficient, and customer-centric postal services and logistics provider.
Appreciation and Future Plans
Mr. Osei Kuffuor expressed profound gratitude to former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for appointing him to the role and for the trust placed in him.
“I am deeply grateful to H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the opportunity to serve my country in such a high capacity,” he stated.
He also acknowledged the support of former Minister for Communications and Digitalization, Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Board of Directors, management, and staff of Ghana Post, whose dedication, he noted, was instrumental in the progress achieved by the company.
As he steps down to pursue other interests, he expressed confidence in the company’s future, stating:
“I am confident that the solid foundation we have laid will serve as a springboard for even greater success for Ghana Post in the future.”
He further extended his best wishes to President John Dramani Mahama and the new administration, hoping for continued success in governance.
Obour’s Career and Political Journey
Bice Osei Kuffuor, popularly known as Obour, is a musician-turned-politician who previously served as President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) for two terms.
He ventured into politics and contested the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries for the Asante Akyem South constituency in both 2020 and 2024, though he was unsuccessful.
Appointed as Managing Director of Ghana Post in January 2022, he played a key role in the organization’s digital transformation and operational reforms.
