Kwamina Asomaning Elected President of Ghana Association of Banks

The Ghana Association of Banks (GAB) has elected Kwamina Asomaning, the Managing Director of Stanbic Bank Ghana, as its new President.

Asomaning takes over from John Kofi Adomakoh, whose tenure ended following his departure from GCB Bank Plc.

In a statement, GAB expressed appreciation for Adomakoh’s contributions to the banking sector, acknowledging his dedication and leadership.

The Association highlighted Asomaning’s extensive experience in both local and international finance, emphasizing his expertise in driving industry collaboration, financial stability, and sustainable economic growth.

“His leadership and strategic approach to innovation position him well to advance Ghana’s banking industry,” the statement noted.

Under Asomaning’s leadership, Stanbic Bank Ghana has been recognized for its customer-focused services, innovation, and commitment to sustainable banking practices.

GAB welcomed his appointment and expressed enthusiasm about working with him to strengthen the sector and drive industry-wide progress.

The Association also confirmed the re-election of other key executives:

  • Hakim Ouzzani, Managing Director of SG Ghana, will continue as Vice President.
  • Henry Onwuzurigbo, Managing Director of Zenith Bank Ghana, retains his position as Treasurer.
