Ghana Link Achieves ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Certification for New Data Centre

Ghana Link Network Services Limited has been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its newly established Data Centre, marking a significant step in strengthening information security standards within Ghana’s digital trade ecosystem.

The certification, issued by CertiTrust following an independent assessment, confirms the effectiveness of Ghana Link’s Information Security Management System and highlights the company’s structured approach to safeguarding data confidentiality, integrity, and availability across its operations.

Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director, Mrs. Cynthia Addy said the achievement reflects operational discipline and institutional trust rather than a ceremonial milestone. She explained that ISO/IEC 27001 validates that information security is integrated into the company’s operations, governance, and continuous improvement processes.

The certification is expected to boost confidence among stakeholders in Ghana’s trade ecosystem, including the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, freight forwarders, importers and exporters, shipping companies, airlines, transport operators, and public institutions that rely on the Integrated Customs Management System for trade and revenue administration.

Chief Technology Officer of Ghana Link, Dr. Alvin Kwabena Ansah, said the new Data Centre was designed to ensure high availability, operational resilience, and business continuity, supported by structured information security governance aligned with ISO/IEC 27001:2022. He noted that critical systems were migrated with minimal downtime, and that certification institutionalises risk management, access controls, and business continuity planning.

Lead Auditor at CertiTrust, Mr. Erick Odea, highlighted that ISO/IEC 27001 compliance requires strong leadership commitment, consistent controls, and a security-conscious culture. He noted that the audit confirmed Ghana Link’s systems are properly established, effectively implemented, and maintained in line with global standards.

Ghana Link said the certification contributes to the government’s broader trade facilitation agenda by improving system reliability, deepening confidence in customs administration, and enhancing Ghana’s appeal as a hub for trade and integrated supply chains. The company also acknowledged the support of technology partners, including Dell Technologies and Get4Less, as well as its internal teams for their roles in achieving the certification.

The company emphasised that ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is not an endpoint but a standard to uphold continuously, ensuring Ghana’s digital trade infrastructure remains secure, resilient, and aligned with international best practices.
