GFA Keeps Black Stars Technical Team Decision on Hold – Okraku Speaks

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to make a final decision on the future of the Black Stars’ technical team following the departure of former head coach Otto Addo.

GFA President Kurt Okraku says discussions are still ongoing as the association carefully reviews its options. In a recent interview, he declined to give a definite answer on whether the current expanded backroom staff will be maintained.

“I can’t answer for this moment,” Okraku said. “But what I know is that I am leading the charge, engaging all key stakeholders, just to make sure that we have a technical team that will take us to where we desire.”

In recent months, the GFA had strengthened the national team’s technical setup, assembling a large group of personnel to boost performance ahead of key international assignments. However, Addo’s exit has created uncertainty, as a new head coach is expected to bring in fresh ideas and possibly his own staff.

With important competitions ahead, including preparations toward the FIFA World Cup, the GFA appears focused on building a strong and effective technical team before making any final announcements.
