The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged party members to put aside past grievances and reconcile following the recent campaign season, emphasizing that unity is crucial for the party’s future.
Speaking at the National Thanksgiving Service held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on Sunday, February 15, 2026, Dr. Bawumia appealed to party faithful to move beyond the hurt caused by heated campaign exchanges.
“On this day, as we come together to celebrate and give thanks, I want to ask all of us, from the bottom of my heart, to forgive one another for some of the unpalatable things that may have been said during the campaign,” he said.
He added, “I have been encouraged by the efforts many of you have made to reach out to your brothers and sisters after the elections. Though the process of healing is not yet complete, I believe we have made a good start, and I commend all patriots for the steps taken so far.”
Dr. Bawumia called on all members to embrace reconciliation and work together toward the party’s long-term goals, stressing that lasting success can only be achieved through solidarity.
His message comes as the NPP continues its efforts to strengthen cohesion, foster collaboration, and promote mutual respect among its members.
