Prof. Prempeh Confident in Constitutional Review Process Leading to Meaningful Reforms

Chairman of the Constitutional Review Committee, c has confirmed that while the committee has received its official budget, it is also actively seeking additional funding to support its operations.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Monday, March 17, Prof. Prempeh provided an update on the committee’s progress, assuring that despite initial logistical setbacks, the team is well-prepared to execute its mandate.

“We have been allocated a budget, but we are also mobilizing additional resources independently to enhance our work,” he stated.

He further emphasized, “We have accepted the funds provided and are proceeding with the resources currently available to us.”

Prof. Prempeh also disclosed that the committee has been assigned an office space, which is presently undergoing refurbishment to ensure a conducive working environment.

“The office has been allocated, and renovation work is underway, including furnishing. Once completed, it will be fully operational,” he noted.

Beyond securing physical infrastructure, the committee has begun assembling its workforce.

A dedicated secretariat has been set up, with key personnel such as researchers, a project coordinator, and administrative staff already recruited to support the committee’s activities.

“We have established a functional secretariat and brought on board researchers, a project coordinator, and administrative staff to facilitate our work,” Prof. Prempeh added.

The Constitutional Review Committee is expected to complete its work within six months.
